World Heritage Day is not just a date on the calendar — it is a reminder of our shared responsibility to recognize, protect, and celebrate the rich legacies that shape our everyday lives. Since receiving the title of India’s First World Heritage City in 2017, Ahmedabad holds a unique place on the global map. Yet, even today, there remains a significant gap in how heritage is perceived and understood by its own people.

With Echoes of Ahmedabad, we aim to redefine and reintroduce heritage through the voices of its people. This exhibition features artworks, poems, sketches, photographs, stories, memories, and even emotions — a tapestry of expressions that together reveal how deeply people connect to the city, even if they’ve never consciously articulated it before. This space is not just a gallery — it’s an invitation to dialogue. We hope visitors will walk through the exhibition, pause, reflect, and ask themselves:

What does heritage mean to me?

Through this collective expression, we celebrate the diversity of lived experiences and foster a more inclusive understanding of what it means to belong to Ahmedabad.
