UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE VOLUNTEERS PROGRAM

The UNESCO World Heritage Volunteers (WHV) 2024 program is an international initiative aimed at engaging youth in the conservation and promotion of World Heritage sites. It brings together volunteers from different countries to participate in hands-on heritage conservation activities, educational workshops, and community engagement efforts.

 

For WHV 2024, the project titled 'Ahmedabad: Through the lens of Heritage' hosted by Khushtar Heritage Collective the includes expert sessions, heritage walks, training in documentation technologies like classical documentation in coordination with photogrammetry, LiDAR scanning, and BIM, structural site visits, heritage photography, and an exhibition. It also features sessions on intangible heritage, such as block printing, and aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving cultural heritage through active participation.
